Raytheon’s Kennedy to succeed Swanson

Thomas Kennedy is to be the new chief executive officer of Raytheon.

Kennedy, 58, succeeds William Swanson, who has been CEO of the contractor for a decade who will remain chairman of the board.

Kennedy, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Raytheon since April 2013, has been with the company for more than 30 years. He has served as president of the integrated defense systems unit and vice president of the space and airborne systems division. He’s an Air Force veteran and holds a doctorate in engineering from the University of California Los Angeles.
