Adacel to supply St Maarten training systems

Adacel has been selected to supply air traffic control (ATC) training systems to Princess Juliana International Airport in St. Maarten.

Under terms of the contract Adacel will supply and install a MaxSim Tower ATC simulator and two of Adacel’s Intelligent Communications Environment (ICE) training systems.

The Adacel MaxSim Tower simulator will have a 9-channel, vertical LCD display system with a 270-degree lateral field-of-view. The state-of-the-art simulator will enable training in all facets of aerodrome control.

The two ICE stations are independent systems that are primarily used to assist in aviation phraseology proficiency and communications procedures. The Adacel systems will be integrated into the St Maarten Civil Aviation Authority’s ATC training programme and will allow the region’s air traffic controllers to have access to tools that will promote the development of the essential skills to perform in accordance with the highest international standards.

Adacel has previously delivered similar MaxSim Tower simulators within the Caribbean region to Curacao and Trinidad.
