SESAR wins Ten-T deployment funding

The European Union will support with almost €2 million from the TEN-T programme a project supporting the planning, execution and monitoring of the Single European Sky ATM Research (SESAR) priority deployment activities.

The project, which was selected for funding under the 2011 TEN-T Annual Call, will support the work of the Interim Deployment Steering Group (IDSG), which is tasked with identifying the first short-term SESAR deployment projects which should be realised by 2014. As of this date, in fact, a definitive deployment manager will take over the work of the IDSG and the steering of the SESAR deployment activities.

The EU-supported project will help coordinate the input of the participating national Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) to accelerate the decision-making process at IDSG level.

It will help to provide a synchronised and consistent input of the Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs), partners of the IDSG, in order to facilitate the collection and integration of the ANSPs and relevant FAB contributions. This coordination will accelerate the decision-making process at the basis of the IDP definition.

The project is set to be completed by April 2014.
