Atlantic Award has the X Factor

The judges panel of the inaugural Atlantic Award will feature senior editors from leading aviation titles including Air Traffic Management, Flight International and Aviation Week in addition to pioneers of performance based navigation such as Avtech and Atlantic Airways.

Part of the ATC Global Excellence Awards, in association with Air Traffic Management magazine, the new award has seen a healthy response from across the industry.

The ATC Global Excellence Awards will recognise exceptional leadership and outstanding contributions by individuals and organisations and winners will be announced at the 23rd ATC Global Conference and Exhibition in Amsterdam at an awards ceremony on the evening of Tuesday March 12, 2013.

Air Traffic Management magazine has launched the Atlantic Award in a bid to acknowledge the efforts of the user community in implementing advanced navigational procedures.

This award recognises excellence in the application of next generation satellite-based navigation technology and is presented in partnership with Atlantic Airways of the Faroe Islands, the first airline in Europe that in 2012 deployed RNP 0.1 procedures – the most precise satellite-assisted Performance-Based Navigation approaches that are being currently deployed in the region.

Entries are invited from those pioneering airspace users (airline, business jet operators, the general aviation community etc) that have developed and implemented such techniques and through doing so have helped develop the vital operational knowledge that will lead to early equipage of next generation technologies.
