Metron Aviation opens New Jersey office to advance NextGen research

Metron Aviation’s new office in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, near the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) William J. Hughes Technical Center (WJHTC) will open on December 12.
The company has opened the office to further research and development support of the FAA’s Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen) initiatives.
Metron Aviation is a prime contractor on Systems Engineering 2020 (SE-2020) SIR1 Set-Aside contract, the FAA’s strategic program for implementing Next Gen and believes its research and engineering capabilities will be greatly enhanced with proximity to the WJHTC.
The WJHTC offers unmatched laboratory and data interface capabilities, essential to validation and verification of emerging NextGen concepts and prototypes.
“Our facility in New Jersey will allow us to focus more resources and to fully support the research that takes place at the WJHTC to ensure the success of NextGen,” said Jim Gaughan, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Advanced Research and Engineering, Metron Aviation.
